SPbSRIVS Launches Quadrivalent Influenza Vaccine In 2021

The Institute has already submitted documents to be reviewed to the Ministry of Health. The Saint Petersburg SRI of Vaccines and Serums of the FMBA of Russia (SPbSRIVS) is awaiting approval for its quadrivalent influenza vaccine and is planning to launch production next year, said Director Viktor Trukhin. “Next year, we will be ready to offer Russian nationals our latest development, the quadrivalent Flu-M Tetra influenza vaccine. The application has been submitted to and is currently reviewed by the Russian Ministry of Health, and we expect the vaccine to be approved by the year-end.”

In September 2019, Sergey Kraevoy, then Deputy Minister of Health of the Russian Federation, reported that the Ministry reckoned to completely switch to a quadrivalent influenza vaccine by 2024.
