In November 2017, SPbSRIVS joined the Developing Countries Vaccine Manufacturers Network (DCVMN). The Institute is the Russia’s only representative in the organization that unites such global companies as MERCK, Green Cross, SK Chemicals, etc.
The alliance of the major international vaccine manufacturers comes as no surprise, because joint efforts are essential when combating severe, yet vaccine-preventable diseases. Third-world demographic are most affected, as adequate healthcare is not generally available in the developing countries. The organization brings together 50 vaccine manufacturers from 17 countries and territories of the world, that produce 40 types of different vaccines. Adjusted to the differences in technologies and manufacturing, DCVMN members produce more than 200 items in total, of which 40 are WHO-prequalified. Established in 2000, DCVMN (Developing Countries Vaccine Manufacturers Network) in its work is guided by the principle that all the people shall be protected from existing and emerging infectious diseases. The mission of DCVMN is to improve the quality of the delivered products and make them available to everyone.
