On September 25, 2019, a trilateral meeting was held in Guatemala between the Instituto MECHNIKOV, FMBA of Russia and the Council of Ministers of Health of Central America (COMISCA), the latter being represented by the Executive President Dr. Alejandro Solis and the Technical Assistant for the COMISCA Joint Negotiation Process, Margarita Garcia.
The meeting discussed the feasibility of implementing a regional project for the production of blood products, solutions for hemodialysis and insulin. The participants voiced hopes that the entire region would benefit from this initiative. The COMISCA Executive Secretariat pledged that they would keep pursuing the goal of bringing the benefits of regional healthcare integration to people through strategic alliances with new partners supporting regional development.
